BEACH PARK, Ill. (WLS) — A man who was targeted in an alleged murder-for-hire shooting in the north suburbs has died, officials said on Monday. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said 46-year-old Oscar Ochoa-Tello, of Beach Park, was pronounced dead on Saturday. Two people have been arrested in connection with an alleged plot to kill Ochoa-Tello in a shooting that unfolded on Wednesday morning. GURNEE, Ill. (WLS) — A woman was killed, and two children were hurt after police say a driver struck a patch of ice in the north suburbs. The crash happened on Sunday at about 8:54 p.m. on Grand Avenue over Interstate 94, Gurnee police said. The driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban was traveling west on Grand Avenue when they tried to change lanes. ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) – A Metra police officer was stabbed at a north suburban train station on Sunday, officials said. Metra said the officer responded to a station in Arlington Heights for a report of a suspicious person in the lot. When the officer arrived, a female of an unknown age, took out a knife, and a scuffle ensued, Metra said. Metra said the officer suffered a minor injury to his hand, and he is back on the job. CHICAGO (WLS) — Six people were injured after a shooting inside a Bronzeville Jewel grocery store Tuesday morning, Chicago police and fire officials said. Two suspects entered a Jewel at the Lake Meadows Shopping Center in the 400-block of East 34th Street just before 11 a.m. and took merchandise, police said.
