GRANT PARK, Ill. (WLS) — Locavore Farms in Grant Park puts iconic farm-to-table meals at a gorgeously long table. Founder Rachael Jones, also known as Mrs. Farmer Jones joined ABC7 to talk about how to make simple foods feel impressive..

The farm offers more than just meals. The experience also offers guided farm tours, live music, bonfire s’mores, and rustic overnight stays at Sumac Creek.

Mrs. Farmer Jones said one of her favorite ways to elevate a table is adding simple pairings, like orange and rosemary, lemon and thyme, and grapefruit with lavender to add sparkle to desserts, cheese boards, and cocktails.

Locavore Farms is hosting a “Friendsgiving Feast with Chef Whitney Jacobs” on November 22 at 6 p.m.

Candied Orange & Rosemary Peel Recipe

Ingredients:

-2 large oranges

-3 sprigs fresh rosemary

-1 cup sugar , and some extra for coating

-1 cup water

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

2. Peel oranges and slice the peel thinly.

3. Strip rosemary leaves from stems.

4. Combine sugar + water for a simple syrup.

5. Add peel; simmer until tender (just a few minutes).

6. Strain and toss with additional sugar.

7. Spread on parchment-lined baking sheet; bake 5 minutes.

8. Cool and air-dry several hours.
